This chalisa was recorded by a handful of yoga/musician friends. We all knew it (and each other) from practicing every Tuesday at the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, CA.

The initial arrangement was worked up by Sequoia Neptune, and then she and I recorded the guitar track and vocals one evening at her home (she sang while I played guitar). Then the rhythm section parts were recorded at my house at a later date. I sent all the tracks to my friend Joe Goodwin, and he produced/mixed it. Then I mastered it.

The recording was originally released on iTunes as a benefit in memory of our friend and yoga teacher Rich McGowan (who is one of the percussionists on the recording).

There are a lot of versions of the Hanuman Chalisa out there, but I think this one is unique...and it holds fond memories for me at a point of time in my life. Hope you enjoy it.
